Report Shows Rapid Progress of St. Louis County Prescription Drug Monitoring Program
As of September 30, 2017, the St. Louis County Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) is available in 48 jurisdictions across Missouri, representing 71% of the state population and 88% of its health care providers.
There are 4,159 uses registered on the system (physicians and pharmacists) who are performing an average of 1,300 patient searches daily. See more information in the Sept. 30 program report.
Physicians are urged to sign up for the PDMP and check it then check it as clinically appropriate when prescribing opioids. The registration process is brief and requires uploading of credentials such as medical licenses. Physicians may also designate staff members to have login credentials for the PDMP.
