Heart disease is the leading cause of death in Missouri, taking the lives of 14,000 Missourians each year. The third annual Missouri Million Hearts conference will highlight innovative methods to prevent cardiovascular disease that align with the mission of the Missouri Million Hearts partnership. The partnership works to address the cardiovascular needs of underserved and high-risk communities in Missouri.
Richard A. Royer, CEO of Primaris and conference presenter, remarked of Missouri Million Hearts, “The great work we do in the partnership is much needed as we continue to see heart disease as the number one cause of death in our state. This annual conference is one critical way for community leaders to learn and connect. Remember, many of these deaths can be prevented with a proactive strategy.”
The Missouri Million Hearts conference will be held on February 1-2 at the Hilton St. Louis Airport. Conference highlights will include ongoing national and local initiatives in the field of cardiovascular prevention and management. The conference will also showcase opportunities for people to collaborate to reduce the burden of heart disease and stroke in their communities.
