Registration Now Open for 2016 Physician Leadership Institute

Following a very successful inaugural course in 2015, Anders Health Care Services, Healthcare Management Alternatives Inc., and the St. Louis Metropolitan Medical Society (SLMMS) are again partnering to present the 2016 Physician Leadership Institute (PLI). Registration is now open for the new sessions which begin on Saturday, February 13.
This five-session, high-intensity program focuses on the business side of medical practice, with the objective of developing leadership and management skills. 25 physicians from across Missouri completed the 2015 program, which was designed in response to an identified need.
The curriculum is rooted in the six domains of the Medical Group Management Association, and was developed with input from physicians and healthcare executives. About two-thirds of last year’s curriculum has been retained, with some new content developed in response to participant evaluations and a PLI alumni physician focus group.
The five sessions are as follows:
Session 1 – February 13 – Foundations of Health Care
Session 2 – February 27 – Finance and Revenue
Session 3 – March 12 – Practice Management
Session 4 – April 2 – Risk and Compliance
Session 5 – April 23 – Leadership Skills
The faculty will include many of the area’s most knowledgeable experts on topics relevant to all practitioners, whether they are independent, hospital-based, or part of a large group. It also includes alumni from the 2015 sessions as presenters or panelists. The classes are highly interactive and discussion-based, and will be held at Anders educational facilities in their offices at 800 Market Street, Suite 500, downtown St. Louis. The sessions run from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
This year, 23 Continuing Medical Education credits will be awarded for completion of the entire curriculum. Tuition for the entire program is $750, discounted to $500 for all SLMMS or MSMA members, and includes lunches, parking and all program materials. Group rates for organizations enrolling multiple physicians are also available.
The deadline to enroll is January 31, 2016. Physicians must enroll in the entire program, and can not register for individual sessions.
